Tribals in Orissa adopt beekeeping

Tribals in Koraput district of Orissa learn the techniques of apiculture to earn a living and switch to a stable means of income for their household. 'Sarvodaya Committee', a non- governmental organisation initiated honey collection in the region in 1955, aided by Orissa Khadi and Village industry board. The beekeepers wait for atleast three months for the honey to be ready for sale.
