Iran’s security chief Mohsen Rezaei has warned that Tehran would deliver “devastating blows” if the country came under another attack, signalling the possible use of new weapons in a future conflict with the United States. Rezaei said Iran would deploy “new weapons” following orders from Supreme Leader Mojtaba Khamenei, who had reportedly directed Iranian forces to respond immediately to threats without geographical restrictions. The warnings have raised concerns over the scale and reach of Iran’s potential retaliation if hostilities resume. Rezaei said diplomatic negotiations remained possible, but only if Washington accepted all seven conditions set by Tehran. He also raised the possibility of Iran withdrawing from the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty (NPT) if tensions escalated further, saying it remained uncertain whether the country would stay in the treaty if another war broke out.
