The Jammu and Kashmir police have avenged the death of sub-inspector Farooq Mir, who was shot dead in Pulwama on June 17. Jaish-E-Mohammad terrorist Majid Nazir was gunned down in an overnight encounter in Pulwama, 4 days after Farooq's bullet-riddled body was recovered from paddy fields near his home. Inspector General of Police of Kashmir, Vijay Kumar said, "Jaish-e-Mohammed terrorist Majid Nazir, killer of SI Farooq Mir has been neutralised in the Pulwama encounter." In total two terrorists have been neutralised in the anti-terror operation that broke out in Pulwama. An unidentified terrorist was killed in a separate encounter in Sopore.
