One person was killed and six injured in long-range rocket attacks fired by the Kuki militants in Manipur's Bishnupur district on September 6. One rocket targeted the house of former Manipur chief minister Mairembam Koireng Singh's home in Moirang. Additional security forces have been deployed in the area, and combing operations have also begun to nab the militants. Meanwhile, all educational institutions have been shut for Saturday amid the ongoing tensions.
