Ukraine claims it has struck two Russian Su-34 fighter-bombers and an Iskander missile-launching site in separate attacks, potentially dealing another blow to Moscow’s military capabilities. The Ukrainian Navy says the bombers were hit in a Neptune missile strike targeting Marinovka airbase in Russia’s Volgograd region, while President Volodymyr Zelensky confirmed the reported aircraft losses. Kyiv’s military intelligence estimates that Russia has lost 43 Su-34s since the full-scale invasion, with around 140 still in service. It also estimates that Moscow can produce just 14 to 18 of these aircraft annually. However, the latest losses have not been independently verified. Is Ukraine increasingly targeting the aircraft Russia relies on for its aerial bombing campaign?
