Amid widespread protests against the centre's new military recruitment scheme, 'Agnipath', industrialist Anand Mahindra has made an offer. The Chairman of the Mahindra Group said that they would like to recruit people trained under the scheme. The assurance came as Mr Mahindra was expressing his sadness at the widespread protests over the programme. While the centre has now made several assurances, including preference to 'Agniveers' in paramilitary forces and government positions, this is the first open pledge by any private enterprise.
