As per PTI report, the meet has been sought after Colombo asked for a deferment of the planned docking of a high-tech Chinese research vessel at the strategic Hambantota Port in Indian Ocean. A 'third-person' note from the Sri Lankan Foreign Ministry was sent to the Chinese embassy in Colombo dated August 5 over the deferment of the 'spy' ship's visit.
