Several districts of Manipur experienced mayhem this week, after a shutdown call by the Meira Paibis (Meitei women community). This over the arrest of five men for carrying weapons, wearing a police uniform. Over the past 48 hours, several police station across the Imphal valley were attacked by women-led mobs with stones. The police in return, fired teargas shells to control the mob. Watch.
