After the US, now Canada visa appointments & permits for Indian students are delayed. The delay has forced the Indian government to intervene in the matter. The Indian High Commission in Ottawa has asked the authorities to look into the problems faced by college students enrolled in Canadian universities. The students are unable to join the academic courses despite paying the fees due to delays in the processing of their visas by Canadian authorities. Unprecedented rise in applications has led to an increase in the processing time of visa applications from four weeks earlier to 12 weeks now. Given the last-minute rush of applications and delay in visa approvals around 10-15% Indian students may be forced to defer their admissions. Watch this report to know more.
