Modi & Xi come face-to-face at SCO summit for first time since Galwan clash

PM Modi and Chinese president Xi Jinping shared the stage at the SCO summit in Samarkand. This is the first time when two leaders have come face-to-face since the beginning of the LAC standoff. Galwan clash in May 2020 frayed ties between the Asian rivals and Modi and Xi have not spoken to each other since then. PM Modi has bilateral talks lined up with Russian President Vladimir Putin, Uzbekistan President Shavkat Mirziyoyev, and Iran's President Ebrahim Raisi later in the day.
