Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman called herself middle class while speaking at an event organised by Rashtriya Swayansevak Sangh's (RSS) magazine "Panchjanya." On the question of whether any new tax on the middle class will be imposed in the upcoming budget, she said that "I identify myself as a member of the middle class, and that is why I understand their pressure."
