The special investigation team (SIT) arrested Congress MLA Mamman Khan for his alleged involvement in the communal violence that broke out in Nuh district of Haryana on July 31 during the VHP's Jalabhishek Yatra. The Haryana government suspended mobile Internet and bulk SMS services in the district for two days. Section 144 has also been imposed until further orders, and people have been asked to offer Friday prayers at home "to prevent any disturbance of peace and public order".
