Indian Air Force carried out rescue operations in flood-hit Shivpuri of Madhya Pradesh. As per an official release, IAF ALH-Dhruv helicopter evacuated as many as 10 people. Heavy rains triggered floods in MP with Shivpuri being one of the worst-hit districts. In Midnapore & Hooghly districts of Bengal, IAF rescued around 31 people from rooftops. IAF undertook missions in the flood-affected areas of Dhanyaghari of Khanakul Block 2. IAF was earlier involved in the rescue operation in Jammu and Kashmir's Kishtwar district. Air Force helicopters distributed relief material in the cloud-burst hit area of Honzar. The helicopters flew a total of eight sorties & transported a relief load of 2,250 kg. It transported 44 NDRF & SDRF personnel, four medical assistants, and two critical patients. IAF also aided in relief, rescue efforts in Maharashtra during the recent spate of landslides.
