Pakistan Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif offered prayers to slain Hamas leader Ismail Haniyeh who was killed in Iran on July 31. The Pakistani Parliament passed a resolution expressing solidarity with the Palestinians. Sharif had previously justified the October 7 attacks on Israel, which led to the deaths of nearly 1,200 Israelis. In light of Haniyeh’s death, Sharif condemned "extrajudicial killings" and called for accountability for those responsible. Additionally, Pakistan is organising absentee funeral prayers for Haniyeh across the country after Friday prayers.
