Two NATO F-35 jets were scrambled to intercept a Russian spy plane near Norway in what is being seen as Vladimir Putin’s latest provocation. The aircraft, an IL-20 COOT-A, was detected flying in international airspace over Finnmark. NATO’s Quick Reaction Alert jets identified and intercepted the plane, which is equipped with advanced electronic and communications intelligence systems, including radar imaging and mapping capabilities.
