China has once again stepped up its military activity around Taiwan, raising fresh concerns about a possible escalation across the Taiwan Strait. Between October 28 and 29, Taiwan detected six Chinese military aircraft and seven naval vessels operating around the island. Five aircraft entered Taiwan's Air Defense Identification Zone, while four aircraft and drones reportedly crossed the Taiwan Strait median line. Another Chinese fighter jet was detected in the northeastern sector. Taiwan's armed forces responded by deploying patrol aircraft, naval vessels and coastal anti-aircraft missile systems to monitor the movements. Is Beijing testing Taiwan's defences ahead of a potential conflict?
