All-girls Basketball Association

A 13-year-old girl has overcome gender and social barriers to emerge as a budding basketball player. She has also mobilized others from the community to form an all-girls team. Afsana Mansuri's name translates into 'fable,' but Afsana's 300-metre walk to the basketball court behind her slum was hardly a fairy tale. Afsana is the seventh grade at a local municipality school.
