The ICC appeals commissioner, Justice John Hansen of New Zealand cleared the Indian spinner Harbhajan Singh of the racism charges after a hearing in Adelaide on January 29, even as the off-spinner was fined 50 per cent of his match fee for using abusive slur. Harbhajan was found guilty of using abusive language under ICC level 2.8 offence that carries a minimum punishment of a 50 per cent match fee fine.
