British judoka Gemma Gibbons said her Olympic silver medal in the women's 78kg final, Britain's first in judo since 2000, would do a lot to help the sport in the UK. Gibbons, the world number 33 and rank outsider, lost to America's Kayla Harrison. Gibbons added that she had been inspired by the British rowing pair Heather Stanning and Helen Glover who won gold in their event.
