Watch | Gear up for unique race of ‘tractor pilots’

Splashing through a water trap, racing around corners, teams from around Russia compete in the annual Bizon Tractor show.Twenty-nine teams of tractor drivers are gathered in Russia's southern Rostov region from seven different regions and Crimea.The drivers, who prefer to be called pilots, reach speeds of up 70 kilometers, or 43 miles per hour, as the compete to become the top tractor driver, or pilot, in the country. The only requirement is that the vehicles be made by Minsk Tractor Works in Belarus. Almost any type of upgrade is allowed.Tractor competitions have been held in Rostov for years, and now attracts crowds of spectators who cheer on their favorite drivers, er, pilots. The event is aimed at increasing respect for farm professions and attracting more young people. If the spectators are any measure, their plan is working.
