Trump claimed Denmark has provided “no military protection” there and dismissed historical Danish claims as dating back “300 years” when “we were there with boats, too,” insisting the U.S. “has to have” Greenland because, in his telling, Russian and Chinese ships are “all over the place” up and down its coasts.
