WATCH: Landslide Sends Huge Cloud of Dust Over Nepal’s Chaulani River

A massive landslide sent rocks, soil and vegetation crashing into the Chaulani River in Nepal’s Darchula district on Friday, temporarily blocking the river’s flow and triggering warnings for downstream communities. The landslide struck near Bhattar in Api Himal Rural Municipality, sending a huge cloud of dust and debris into the valley. Authorities later said the river flow had returned to normal, but warned of the risk of further landslides and possible sudden flooding if another blockage occurs.
