‘Won’t rollback’: Doval on ‘Agnipath’; Claims PM took risk in national interest

National Security Advisor Ajit Doval broke silence on the protests surrounding Modi government's defence recruitment scheme - Agnipath and said that the contentious scheme will not be rolled back. Speaking to news agency ANI, Doval said a change in the armed forces' make-up is necessary if the country wants to prepare for future wars and conflicts. "The (idea of) war is undergoing a great change. We are going toward contactless wars, and also going towards the war against the invisible enemy. Technology is taking over at a rapid pace. If we have to prepare for tomorrow, then we have to change," said Doval. He explained that 'Agnipath' scheme is part of prime minister Narendra Modi's vision for a 'secure and strong' India. "When PM Modi came to power in 2014, one of his priorities was how to make India secure and strong. That required many avenues, many steps," Doval told ANI. Watch this video for more information.
