A man was shot dead after he attacked a police officer guarding the Israeli embassy in Serbia on June 29. The interior ministry of Serbia said the attacker wounded the policeman with a crossbow. Serbia's Interior Minister Ivica Dacic said in a statement that the officer used a weapon in self-defense to shoot the attacker, who died as a result of his injuries. Israeli Foreign Ministry said, "Today there was an attempted terrorist attack in the vicinity of the Israeli Embassy in Belgrade."
