Amid escalating tensions in the Nuh region of Haryana, the state government has urgently sought the deployment of 20 companies from the Rapid Action Force (RAF). Nuh has been grappling with sectarian unrest, triggered by a clash between two groups during a Hindu procession passing through a Muslim area. The situation has resulted in the deaths of five people, including two police officers, and led to violence spilling over into neighbouring Gurugram. In an effort to restore law and order and contain the unrest, the Haryana govt has called for the immediate assistance of the RAF.
