Lithuania shuts Belarus border, airports after balloon airspace violations

Lithuania closed its last two border crossings with Belarus and shut down its largest airports after a series of airspace violations by balloons allegedly launched from Belarus, carrying contraband cigarettes. Officials warn this is the third incident of its kind this month and follows earlier closures of Vilnius airspace and severe disruptions to European aviation caused by drone and balloon incursions.
