'No Beard, No Work': Taliban's Islamic Emirate's latest diktat

The Taliban prevented the entry of beardless government employees to their offices in Afghanistan on Monday. It has instructed all government employees to wear a beard and adhere to a dress code or risk being fired, as per reports. Sources said representatives from the Ministry for the Propagation of Virtue and Prevention of Vice stopped the staff members of the Ministry of Finance at the gate because they were beardless. "All government bodies were instructed not to allow women without hijab and male employees of government administrations to fit their appearance in accordance with Sharia law," Spokesperson of the Ministry Muhammad Sadiq Akif said.
