US President Donald Trump has once again claimed that the United States must take control of Greenland to prevent Russia or China from gaining influence over the strategically vital Arctic island. Speaking aboard Air Force One, Trump dismissed Denmark’s defence capabilities and insisted Washington would control Greenland “one way or another,” downplaying concerns about NATO unity. The remarks come amid renewed US interest in Greenland’s strategic location, Arctic security, and valuable natural resources, including rare earth minerals, as Denmark firmly rejects any takeover.
