Former Russian president Dmitry Medvedev said on April 29 that NATO's newer members are now potential targets for Moscow and at risk of possible revenge strikes using nuclear weapons in the event of a conflict. Medvedev, who has styled himself as one of Russia's most outspoken anti-Western hawks, appeared to be referring to Sweden and Finland, the last two countries to join the Western military alliance.
