On February 14, Jacob Zuma announced his resignation as the President of South Africa. His resignation has come after many allegations of corruption scandals emerged against him. His party, the African National Congress (ANC) too had been building pressure on him to resign. Cyril Ramaphosa was elected the new president by the country's parliament on February 15.
