Trump abandons Taiwan before China's invasion? First new F-16s abort delivery flight

Taiwan’s first two newly built F-16 Block 70 fighters reportedly turned back to Pearl Harbor–Hickam in Hawaii shortly after taking off on September 7 for the next leg of their transit to Guam. The reason has not been publicly confirmed. The aircraft—tail numbers 6727 and 6728—had already spent more than two weeks in Hawaii after arriving from the U.S. mainland in August, further delaying delivery to Taiwan’s Zhihang Air Base in Taitung.
