Watch | Fireball fight in El Salvador

People of Nejapa in El Salvador observe a Fireball Festival each year. Youngsters gather to throw gas soaked rag balls at each other. This festival is to commemorate a volcanic eruption way back in 1922. They recall the 1658 eruption of the San Salvador volcano that destroyed Nejapa. They believe the lava from the volcano was a battle between a Saint Jeronimo and a devil and this fireball fight is in his honour. The dangerous event has no rules but surprisingly there have hardly been any serious injuries.
