'Won't hesitate...': China, U.S clash as Beijing threatens war over Taiwan
In the first face-to-face meeting, the Chinese Defence Minister Wei Fenghe and US Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin sparred over the issue of Taiwan on Friday with Washington saying Beijing is trying to change the status quo over the island and Beijing condemning the arms sales to Taipei. U.S Defense Secretary and Chinese Defence Minister met on the sidelines of the Shangri-La Dialogue security summit in Singapore for nearly an hour, double the time initially allotted. During the meeting, Fenghe clearly told Austin that if anyone tries to take Taiwan away from China, Beijing won't hesitate to start a war. Watch this video for more.
