Taliban takes over building in Kabul

Taliban insurgents armed with guns and explosives clashed with security forces after taking over a building near the airport in Kabul on Monday. The militant group said the attack was intended to target Americans in Kabul International Airport, one part of which is used by military forces and another by civilians. Smoke and flames rose from the site of an attack by insurgents in Kabul as Afghan and international security forces battled to bring the situation under control.
