Circus lions from Columbia are being prepared for their long-haul flight to South Africa. They will spend the rest of their days in a wildlife sanctuary. According to reports, the lions had previously worked in circuses where they suffered from harsh training methods and food shortages. Over the next few months, animal specialists will monitor the lions' adaptation. Since 2015, the use of wild animals in Colombian circuses has been illegal. The lions are just the latest of a number of wild animals rescued and relocated by Animal Defenders International (ADI) in the South American country.
