Wickremasinghe calls for international aid to combat the LTTE

Former Prime Minister of Sri Lanka, Ranil Wickremasinghe today appealed to India and the international community to aid in curbing militant activity sponsored by the Tamil Tiger rebels. Wickremasinghe stopped in India's southern Chennai city on his way to the island nation after a 10-day trip to Dubai. Wickremasinghe said his United National Party (UNP) would discuss a strategy as soon as he got back to Sri Lanka.
