iPhone Duo, thinnest iPhone ever
The foldable phone — a device that will likely start at $2,000 and use the name Duo — represents the largest design change to the company’s flagship product in its history. John Ternus says all other foldable form factors feel like two phones joined together, and ill suited for media consumption and apps.
Apple says this is their thinnest iPhone ever, when unfolded. The hinge mechanism plays a key role in the ergonomics as well as robustness.

What Apple CEO said on iPhone Duo
"Others have created foldables that just feel like two phones awkwardly stuck together," Ternus said in a video shown at the Steve Jobs Theater at Apple's headquarters in Cupertino, California, adding that Apple wanted a device with a large display "that feels as natural and intuitive as (the) iPad."

The event is particularly significant because it marks the beginning of the John Ternus era at Apple following Tim Cook’s departure as CEO earlier this month.
