Prince Harry-Meghan Markle: Dickie Arbiter said, “If Princess Diana was alive today we would not be going through this."
Prince Harry and Meghan Markle would have never married if his mother Diana, Princess of Wales was still alive, a report said. Queen Elizabeth II's former press secretary Dickie Arbiter said that the couple's relationship would not have happened if Diana were still alive.

Dickie Arbiter said, “If Princess Diana was alive today we would not be going through this. She had her head screwed on the right way. She was very practical and he was very sensible.”
“I'm going to stick my neck out here and I doubt Harry would have married Meghan because Harry wouldn't have been in the state he was in as a result of his mother's death, he would have taken a completely different course and he would still be here working in support of the [King],” the former press secretary said.

In her explosive book ‘The Palace Papers: Inside the House of Windsor - the Truth and the Turmoil’ author and close friend of Princess Diana, Tina Brown, said, “The Oprah interview was desperately damaging to any relationship that Harry could ever hope to have with his family.”

“And even that could have been gradually assuaged if he hadn’t then announced he was doing a memoir. I think the memoir was actually more breath-taking than the interview.
