The United Arab Emirates (UAE) closes it airspace as Israel and US conduct strikes on Iran. The strikes were reportedly conducted near Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei's residential palace and offices.

This closure of the UAE airspace comes even as explosions were heard in Abu Dhabi. Residents in Abu Dhabi told AFP they heard loud explosions in the Emirati capital. Two residents said that they heard the blasts. Abu Dhabi is home to a base housing US personnel.
Earlier, the UAE closed its airspace "temporarily and partially" as an exceptional precautionary measure, the report said.
The US Mission in the UAE instructed its staff in the US Embassy in Abu Dhabi and the US Consulate in Dubai to take shelter-in-place in the wake of the developing security situation in West Asia.
Sharing the details in a post on X, it issued helpline numbers and email addresses for US citizens and called for people to find a secure location and ensure a supply of essential items.
Strikes were reported across Iran, and smoke could be seen rising from the capital. Meanwhile, President Donald Trump said in a video posted on social media that the US had begun "major combat operations in Iran." He claimed Iran has continued to develop its nuclear program and plans to develop missiles to reach the US
Iran’s Foreign Ministry responded to the joint strikes Saturday, saying that the country “will not hesitate” in its response to the renewed military aggression. “The time has come to defend the homeland and confront the enemy’s military assault,” the foreign ministry posted in a statement on X.
Explosions were also heard across Qatar, Abu Dhabi and Dubai.
