US Iran War LIVE Updates: Iran launched a fresh wave of attacks on US targets across the Middle East on Wednesday, escalating tensions following an extensive American bombardment and a deadly strike on a wedding ceremony in southern Iran that killed four, including a four-year-old boy. Iran’s Revolutionary Guards said they targeted US bases in Jordan, the United Arab Emirates, Kuwait, Bahrain and Iraq’s autonomous Kurdistan region, marking the heaviest exchange between the two sides in weeks....Read More
The escalation came after US President Donald Trump warned of “much harder and higher” attacks if Tehran retaliated against the American strikes.
US targets Iran
US Central Command on Tuesday said it targeted “air defense sites, radar systems, maritime assets and facilities, mine laying capabilities, and communications sites” associated with the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps.
It added that the strikes followed a recent attack by IRGC against commercial shipping in the Strait of Hormuz and against American service members
“The strikes follow recent attempted attacks by the IRGC against commercial shipping in the Strait of Hormuz and against American service members,” Central Command added in the statement posted on X.
5 killed in US strikes at wedding
At least five people were killed and 50 were injured at a residential home in Kuhestak, Sirik, a coastal area on the Strait of Hormuz.
A 4-year-old child was reportedly among those killed, reported the IRNA news agency citing a provincial official who put the number of wounded at 68.
Iran's foreign ministry condemned the killing and said that the cruelty cannot be separated from the chain of atrocities that happened before. “This cruelty cannot be separated from the chain of atrocities that preceded it in #Minab, #Lamerd, Qeshm and elsewhere nor from the strikes on military targets that were dressed in deceptive justifications,” Esmaeil Baqaei said.
Trump's stark warning
US President Donald Trump said the strikes were in retaliation for Iran trying to put mines in the strait and for an earlier assault on a military base and warned of more attacks if Tehran responded, Bloomberg reported.
He warned Iran that “very little will be left of the nation," if it chooses to retaliate to the fresh US strikes near the Strait of Hormuz. The US president also claimed that Washington was in “almost total control” of the key maritime route, while adding that the Iranian economy was “collapsing” due to America's sanctions and “economic D-day” approach to the war.
“If the failed Nation of Iran retaliates for this very justified attack, they will be hit again at a much harder and higher level, but it will not be the biggest attack of them all, that is waiting in the wings and, when it is over, there will be very little left of the Islamic Republic of Iran!” Trump wrote on Truth Social.
Iran retaliates
Iran launched strikes on Wednesday targeting American interests in Bahrain, Kuwait and Jordan after vowing "severe punishment" in response to US attacks, including one that the Iranian Red Crescent said left four people dead at a wedding celebration, AFP reported.
US Marine Corps base Camp Titin in Jordan was targeted for an "intense ballistic missile attack", Iran's Revolutionary Guards said early Wednesday, according to Iranian news outlet Tasnim.

I like our position now much better, with almost total control of the Hormuz Strait, and their economy totally collapsing. They are just playing out the inevitable.
