Wheelchair-bound woman with feeding tube inspires many with her make-up styles
Emily Jones, a 22-year-old British who has a medical condition which has left wheelchair-bound and with a feeding tube. She, however, continues to inspires people with her make-up style.
It’s not easy to live with a disability, especially when you are young and ready to conquer your dreams. There are, however, some people who do not let disability define their fate.
Emily Jones, a 22-year-old British who has a medical condition called Ehlers-Danlos syndrome (type 3), is one such person. Ehlers-Danlos syndrome is a cognitive tissue disorder that can be inherited. It affects the bones and skin in such a way that it can leave a person completely immobile.
Jones also suffers multiple joint dislocations every day.
She wants to become a successful make-up artist and her Instagram account has pictures of her selfies, showcasing her make-up looks full of glitters and bold colours.
And, of course, the tube attached to her nose, which helps feed her as she also has a stomach and intestinal problem - is one of the accessories.
More than 2.5 lakh people follow her on Instagram in which she describes herself as “I’m tube fed for medical reasons & wheelchair bound permanently! I’m an aspiring MUA and am self taught.”
“I’m such a glitter addict,” Jones writes in one of her posts.
She feels that the colours and glitters she uses in her make-up can her take the mind away from her painful disease.
“Makeup has been a distraction from my joints all dislocating at once (both hips and knees dislocated at the same time, elbows and shoulders and ankles as well. I’m in agony),” she writes in her post.
“When my chronic illnesses leave me in bed I then do my makeup to try and hide how crappy I feel my belly is so distended I look preggers.”
In future, Jones wants ”to be sponsored by a big makeup brand one day”.
Her followers say she is an inspiration and love her styles.
“I think its so inspiring how you bring in your tube in every look in a really cute way.. People like you make me so proud? .. And yep you’re talented creating makeuplooks (sic),” one of the comments on her post reads.
