The wheelchair-bound former first lady's interview follows Chen's arrest three days ago on graft charges.

A spokesman for the prosecutors, Chen Yun-nan, confirmed that the former president's wife and daughter were questioned on Saturday. The ex-leader's wife was indicted two years ago on charges she embezzled money from a special presidential fund.

In August, Chen acknowledged that Wu had wired $20 million overseas, but she said it came from unused campaign contributions. Taiwanese law permits candidates to retain unused political donations.
