Malaysian IAEA governor dismissed

Malaysia had previously recalled its envoy for the vote.

The IAEA Board of Governors adopted a resolution against Iran on September 30. The resolution criticised Iran for beginning construction of a new uranium enrichment facility at Fordu, near Qom, and demanded that it immediately halt its construction.

Twenty-five members voted in favour of the resolution. Malaysia, which was the president of the IAEA Board at the time, Venezuela, and Cuba voted against the resolution, and Afghanistan, Brazil, Egypt, Pakistan, South Africa and Turkey abstained. Azerbaijan Republic representative was absent during the vote.
