Obama should improve ties with Cuba: Lula

Brazilian President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva asked his US counterpart Barack Obama to improve ties with Cuba, Bolivia and Venezuela during their meeting on Saturday, the Brazilian leader told reporters.

Lula said he also called on Obama to create a relationship of "trust not interference," with Latin America.

"What I said to President Obama, and I hope he will make it happen, that there would be closer ties with Venezuela, closer ties with Cuba, closer ties with Bolivia," Lula told journalists after the meeting.
