Local residents said that the attackers fired rockets on the mountainous post in the Chashma area near Miranshah, which also happens to be theadministrative headquarters of the region bordering Afghanistan.

It was the second violent attack on government forces in the region since early Saturday when suspected militants ambushed a checkpoint and killed eight paramilitary personnel.
