Pak's home ministry orders increased security

Pakistan's interior ministry has alerted the provinces that two militant organisations could attempt attacks at gatherings and processions during the holy month of Moharram.

Pakistan's interior ministry has alerted the provinces that two militant organisations could attempt attacks at gatherings and processions during the holy month of Moharram.

"It said this in a communication sent to the four provincial governments and law enforcing agencies," The News reported on its website.

Punjab's Inspector General of Police, in the light of the directive, has ordered all officials "to intensify security to forestall any attacks by the terrorists during the month of Moharram", it added.
