Police say a recreational airplane has crashed into a field in northern Germany, killing all four people aboard. Police say the single-engine Cirrus SR 22 crashed today afternoon in a field near Friedrichskoog on the North Sea coast.

Police in nearby Itzehoe said they had no further details and the cause of the crash is unknown.
