London police confirmed Tuesday that one of its officers lost a bag containing documents on January 5 and reported it to his bosses, adding that the papers were not "operationally sensitive". They did not comment on the newspaper's claim that the documents were related to the Olympics, The Sun newspaper says a passenger on the train found the documents and gave them to the newspaper, which returned them to the police.

It says the papers contain accounts of meetings where security measures were discussed, and details of contingency plans for the Olympics.
