A day after a fire in a Noida factory killed six persons, four of the deceased were identified.

However, two of the victims are yet to be identified. On Thursday, four families came forward saying their men who work at the factory are missing. The police have decided to conduct an operation to search for the missing victims in the basement of the factory on Friday morning.

Director of Excel Greentech Sanjoy Das, 45, is still missing. He was in the factory at the time of the fire. His family unable to identify Das as the two bodies were charred beyond recognition, police said.

“DNA analysis report that will come in a month’s time will help in the identification of Sanjoy Das. We have sent the DNA samples of Das and his father to a lab in Lucknow,” said Dinesh Yadav, superintendent of police, Noida City.

Two more claimants who surfaced said that two office boys are missing, as they have not reached home since Thursday.

“We have sought 200 labourers and equipment to dig out ash in the basement to search for more bodies. We will begin combing the building again tomorrow,” Yadav said.

Das’s family is upset and worried as they are unable to trace him.

The police have sought the help of the Noida authority in search operations to be conducted on Friday morning.
