Several Ambala trains to be diverted for 36 days owing to work at Saharanpur

The construction of a washable apron at platform 4 of the Saharanpur railway station will require several trains to be diverted for 36 days from August 16 to September 20, while one train has been cancelled.

Trains going to Jammu and coming from Ambala are among those affected. The 51907/ 51908 Shamli Saharanpur Passenger is the one cancelled for the period. The Muradabad-Saharanpur 64565/ 64566 will terminate at Rurki.

The Delhi-Ambala Cantt (64561) train will halt for 70 minutes in Delhi, while the Ambala Meerut City Passenger (54542) and Ambala-Hazrat Nizamuddin Passenger (54540) will be stop for 40 minutes in Ambala.

The Delhi-Saharanpur Express will terminate at Muzaffarpur. The Ambala Cantt-Saharanpur, Saharpur-Nagaldam, and Saharanpur-Ambala Cantt trains will terminate at Yamunanagar Jagadhri.

The Darbhanga-Amritsar Jannayak Express, Rajendra Nagar-Jammu Tawi Archna Express, Kanpur Junction-Jammu Tawi Express and Barauni-Jammu Tawi Express will follow the route connecting Muradabad, Ghaziabad, Delhi, Panipat, Ambala and back for these 36 days.

Gurbachan Singh, councillor from the same ward, faced public wrath when he went to hear grievances of the people, who are facing problems due to accumulation of sewerage water in their respective areas.

The civic body had failed to take notice of sewerage overflow problem in the area from past one week. The police have registered case against the accused Aatma Singh, his son Jashan and three unidentified persons.
